Dr. Asha Devereaux complete her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of California at San Diego, followed by a Medical Degree and Masters Degree in Public Health from Tulane University’s Schools of Medicine and Public Health.  Upon graduation, she served in the United States Navy achieving the rank of Commander while receiving board-certification in Internal Medicine, Pulmonology, and Critical Care Medicine.

During her 11 year Naval career, Dr. Devereaux served on the Navy Surgeon General’s panel for Tobacco Cessation and assisted in the creation as Head of Medicine at Beaufort Naval Hospital, served on numerous committees, and spent 3 years covering the USNS Mercy’s Chem/Bio ICU.

In addition to her private practice of medicine, she currently is immediate past-Chairman of the Disaster Response Network of the American College of Chest Physicians, serves on the Foundation Board of Directors for the ACCP, is the Treasurer of the California Thoracic Society, and is the lead physician advisor to the San Diego Medical Reserve Corps.  In her role with the MRC, Dr. Devereaux responded to the humanitarian needs of the evacuees following the SD Fires and Hurricane Katrina.  She has published on a wide range of topics from Biological and Chemical Agents of Terrorism to Collagen Vascular Diseases of the Lung, and is an invited lecturer both nationally and internationally on these subjects.
