Katherine Andrus is an Assistant General Counsel for the Air Transport Association (ATA), the trade association representing the major commercial airlines (passenger and cargo) in the United States. Ms. Andrus works on public policy, litigation, environmental and health issues associated with aviation. Since 2003, Ms. Andrus has provided legal support to ATA’s Medical Committee, which includes airline medical and occupational health professionals. In that capacity she has worked extensively with the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization to develop protocols for managing and reporting in-flight incidents of communicable diseases on aircraft and following up after a flight with passengers and crew who may have been contagious with or exposed to a communicable disease. Ms. Andrus graduated from Vassar College, has a Masters Degree in Historic Preservation from Boston University and received her J.D. from the University of Virginia. She is admitted to the Bar of the District of Columbia.
