About
This Workshop:
Successful federal government contracting requires that members of the team, both Government and Contractor, are able to work effectively together. Working together effectively requires a basic understanding of the Federal acquisition process, its rules and relationships and individual roles and responsibilities. Mastering this understanding is critical to the success of both Government and Contractor
This in-depth, hands on course is geared for the non-contracting professional, such as Program Managers and Project Managers, who desire to understand the process and master their roles and responsibilities in the government acquisition process.
This course will provide an understanding for both government and contractor personnel, of the history and structure of federal contracting, the acquisition process, how a determination is made for competitive or non-competitive procurement, market research, the relationship of payment and performance risk to the type of contract chosen, contractor selection and award. Students will leave this course with an understanding of the functions of contract administration, including monitoring contractor performance, how delays and interruptions are handled, contract modifications and changes, the contract dispute process, contract terminations and finally contract closeout activities.
This course is taught by a knowledgeable, skilled instructor, having a wealth of hands-on, practical experience in presenting this topic. This course will use lectures, class exercises, and assignments to work on while away from class. This approach of participative learning will ensure that each student returns to work with improved skills and confidence in applying the lessons learned
