Essential Competencies Training for COTR Certification

22 of the required 40 hours of training must cover essential COTR competencies. These courses are designed to fulfill this requirement:

Contract Specific Training

18 hours of training should be specific to the type of contract or contracts the COTR will handle within the agency. These courses are designed to cover specific contract types and issues:

Construction Claims	- Communicating contract requirements - Problem solving - Understanding the Marketplace - Understanding COTR duties, responsibilities, and obligations	2

Competency-Based Training for Certification Maintenance

40 hours of continuous learning must be completed every two years or COTRs may lose certification. In addition to the courses listed above, these specialized topics strengthen core competencies required for FAC-COTR maintenance:
